National Women’s Day

Australia’s High Commissioner, H.E. Sarah deZoeten, was honoured to join the Vanuatu Women’s Centre (VWC) and celebrate the incredible achievements of Merilyn Tahi. Through Merilyn’s vision, leadership and determination founding VWC and working as VWC Coordinator for 30 years, VWC has grown to provide crisis counselling and legal assistance for women and children affected by violence across all six provinces of Vanuatu and support local communities to help end violence against women. Australia is proud to be a long term partner of the VWC and its work to eliminate violence against women and children in Vanuatu. We celebrate you today Merilyn – your legacy will continue to live on in the amazing VWC staff and the next generation of leaders.
