The Vanuatu Women’s Center held its Annual Staff Retreat at Lonnoc Beach Bungalow, Santo from the 30th October to the 6 November 2025. The staff of VWC Vila branch and five other branches from Torba, Sanma, Penama, Malampa and Tafea come together for a one-week gathering to discuss and reflect on VWCs work, team build and  also to relax and unwind. UNFPA GBVIE Specialist Jackline Obwanda ran a 2 day workshop on GBVIE -Gender Based Violence in Emergency Response and Prevention during disaster. Giving key sessions on what is GBV and its concept, the staff divided into groups to discuss what were the strategies VWC must have in times of  Response and Prevention during Emergency and disaster.  During the retreat staff had the chance to meet other new staffs, strengthen bonds and trust among colleague through shared activities and discussions, strategic plan on goals (long-term and short-term), learn new skills and brainstorm new ideas from group activities and also staff had the chance to take a break from their normal work routine to recharge and relax, which is important for overall productivity and creativity.
