The Vanuatu Women’s Centre conducted its National Annual Counsellors training this week from the 8th – 12th May, 2023 at Le Life Resort. The training was attended by counsellors from the Vanuatu Women’s Centre Vila Office as well as its Provincial Offices. The training was conducted by Mrs. Miriam Bule- the VWC Counsellor Manager. The training included sessions on counselling ethics and skills, community education and awareness, referrals of clients and advocacy.
The VWC lawyers also held legal sessions on the Court Hierarchy, Criminal and Civil Cases, Sexual offences, the Family Protection Act (FPA) and other legal issues.
The counsellors were also fortunate to have received training on internet safety and online child protection by the Vanuatu Internet Governance Forum.
