๐Ÿ’œ Supporting Women & Children Across Vanuatu

The Vanuatu Womenโ€™s Centre (VWC) in Port Vila is the main office supporting women and children who are victims or survivors of family violence.

VWC provides a range of free and confidential services, including:

  • Centre-based, mobile, and phone counselling
  • Support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and sexual harassment
  • Legal advice
  • Accompaniment or referrals to court, police, hospital, and community support networks
  • Support through Committees Against Violence Against Women (CAVAW) in rural and outer island areas

๐Ÿ“ Sanma Counselling Centre (SCC)

Established: 10 October 1995, Luganville, Santo
SCC was the first VWC branch, launched after a successful CAVAW workshop in 1993. It supports Torba, Sanma, and Penama provinces with active committees, outreach programs, and counselling support.

๐Ÿ“ Torba Counselling Centre

Opened: January 2011, Sola, Vanualava Island
Serving remote communities in Torba Province, this centre provides counselling for women and girls, delivers awareness sessions, and conducts the Male Leaders Workshop with SCC. Special training and advocacy campaigns are also run regularly.

๐Ÿ“ Penama Counselling Centre

Established: 2017 (with support from UN Women)
Located in Pentecost, Penama Centre works with a growing CAVAW network. It provides counselling, leads awareness programs, and offers menโ€™s leadership training with local government and civil society partners.

๐Ÿ“ Malampa Counselling Centre

Established: 2017 (UN Women supported)
Based in Lakatoro, Malampa Centre delivers support services and partners with provincial authorities to provide education, counselling, and male leadership development in communities.

๐Ÿ“ Tafea Counselling Centre

Established: 2017 (UN Women supported)
Located in Lenakel, Tanna, this branch serves Tafea Province through counselling, awareness campaigns, and leadership training. It works closely with rural communities to build safer environments through partnerships and education.
