VWC's Work & Impact in Vanuatu
For over 30 years, the Vanuatu Women's Centre has led national efforts to eliminate violence against women and children through support services, education, and grassroots advocacy.

🌺 Nationwide Network:
Main centre in Port Vila and five provincial branches (Sanma, Tafea, Torba, Malampa, Penama) offering counselling, legal support, and outreach in every province. -
📞 Life-Saving Services:
Free and confidential counselling (centre-based & mobile), legal advice, referrals to court/hospitals/police, and access to Safe House shelters. -
🤝 Community-Based Action:
39 active CAVAWs (Committees Against Violence Against Women) working at village level to raise awareness and support women in remote areas. -
👨👧 Male Advocacy:
Trained male leaders advocating for gender equality and ending violence against women—accountable to local communities and women's movements. -
📢 Education & Prevention:
Radio programs, school campaigns, community workshops, and national advocacy during events like International Women's Day & 16 Days of Activism. -
📊 Proven Impact:
Areas with long-term VWC presence show lower rates of violence. VWC's data-informed programs have empowered thousands of women and saved lives.
